Caleb was born with two rare syndromes, CHARGE and DiGeorge. Caleb is the 6th person in the world born with both syndromes. CHARGE is a multisystem-effecting syndrome which can cause several severe anomolies. DiGeorge prevented Caleb from developing an immune system. He spent over a year straight in the hospital, had multiple surgeries with a possibility of having more in the future. This blog details his heroic journey and story. God Bless Caleb!!

Prayers Needed
Well....sorry for the delay in posts, but Caleb has been not feeling well since his arrival at Duke. He developed a severe infection on Thursday and was intibated (put on a ventilator). He developed a high temperature of 103 degrees and got acidodic (high levels of acid in his blood) and was not getting rid of the bad gases (carbon dioxide) out of his lungs. He was not doing well at all on Friday morning and they had difficulty stabilizing him. He was finally stabilized on Friday afternoon and has had about one or two unstable times a day. He is still in critical condition. They are trying to find the source of the infection. They keep adjusting his ventilator (oscillator-shakes his body and keeps his lungs open to keep fluid out of his lungs) to find the right setting for him so the fluid does not go into his lungs. They are many things they are watching at this time and honestly there is not enough time to type. We would just appreciate everyones' prayers that Caleb can continue to fight this infection, get rid of the extra fluid, and stay stable. I will try to update as soon as I can. Please pray for Caleb!!!!

Caleb,
We will pray for continued strenth for you--to fight the infection--and your family--to be able to hang in there at your bedside and at home. You have already shown everyone what a true fighting spirit you have...keep up that fight!
Hugs, Sarah, Jeremy, and Evan Storrs

I just broke down in tears reading your post Sarah. I am so terribly sorry. I don't even know how to begin to express my sadness. Please keep us posted as much as you can.

Sarah,
We're sorry to learn that Caleb is struggling with an infection. He (and you have endured so much).
We will continue to pray for your whole family. We've never posted before but have followed his progress via Mighty Max's blog.
Our prayers are with you.

We are praying right now for sweet Caleb!! You can do this Caleb!! Please know we are with you in spirit and prayer. I am going to get my bible study to pray for Caleb and everyone else I can.
Mike and i were called at 2:00 am one nite when Tate was in the PICU as a newborn saying he was acidotic. We rushed back to him and he was re-intubated. These guys are such little fighters.
We are holding all of you in prayer.
Love,
Corrie

Hi,
My name is Lindsay Godsey and I read about Caleb on Eva and Mighty Max's website this morning. Please know that I, too, am praying for your sweet boy. I am so sorry that you are having to go through such a scary, uncertain time right now. Thankfully though, this has not caught Our Lord by surprise and He is in complete control. May He comfort you and give you strength as Caleb fights his way through this infection.
My name is Laurie. I found Caleb's story through a link on "Waiting for Zoe." Just wanted to extend my thoughts and prayers.
Sweet Caleb,
We can't stop thinking about you and wondering how you're doing. It sounds strange I know but I feel like you are Tate's little friend though we've never met.
When I picked up Tate's brother from school, one of the mom's I e-mailed said,"we're praying for Caleb". A couple have written into Tate's site saying they're praying as well.
I am so hoping you're having a very stable day and fighting this bug off. Hang in there little bub.
Love from MO,
Corrie
Praying for you to get better.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Mock and family
